travels

Over a period of two years, we researched, travelled and absorbed live/make buildings and maker districts.

We identified live/make sites that were primarily :

1) urban or inner-city

2) previous industrial heritage

3) undergoing urban renewal or regeneration

Scale varied from immense to tiny. We visited wonderfully messy, raw, and energetic projects — those in the process of becoming.

And we tried to understand the physical environment, historical context and multiple partnerships. These layered social and economic factors are integral to the creation and evolution of live/make dwellings and their surrounding ecosystems and neighbourhoods.
