The next series of posts continue our travels to New York, New Jersey, and surrounding boroughs.
New York is one of the most diverse cities in the world. Built by waves of immigrants, New York’s rich manufacturing past was one of the economic engines that helped power the United States of America.
For Greater New York, we looked at historical aspects of live/make spaces, including the rise of tenement housing. We touched upon the evolution of the garment industry, and we visited entrepreneurs and small businesses to see the current state of small-scale manufacturing, workshops and live make spaces in New York and beyond.
